I have both games here and I was wondering what you guys thought about them. I have GTA1 on the Playstation 1 and I have GTA2 on the Dreamcast. These are both great games and I think they were overlooked. Which one do you guys think is better?

I personally had a lot of fun with GTA2 and it's great gang war features which still hasnt been topped in any GTA game.

In my opinion GTA2 is still the best, it had the perfect setting, graphics, and storyline but the engine is rather limited and thus not really suitable for modding

In my opinion its gta 2, as if you ask me if i prefer gta san andreas or gta 4 ... Of course the answer ( in rockstar´s case ) is evolution...
Each Gta game that comes out is better than the last so gta 2 was gta 1´s evolution and therefore is better But hey, just my opinion , 2 great classics indeed !!

Two great classics indeed, but i somewhat disagree with the statement i colored, since the day that IV got released for that matter, graphics and a new physics engine is hardly evolution, and even if it can be called that theres still the pretty hughe fallback in functionality/possibility's.

Bscly too me this is a remake of gta3 following game standards of nowadays (graphic & physics wise) and definatlly not anything of what i've hoped for, R* did a good job 'shattering dreams', good thing their lazyness (in essence still the same engine) will help us modders re implement all our beloved san andreas features (and more ofcourse)

Back to the classics, i liked them most of all gta's, and sometimes still play them, did you guys know you can get the pc versions of them for free, legally from Rockstar? (for a while btw, since sa release if im not mistaken)

I have a love for nostalgia and yet I don't like GTA or GTA2. Neither drew me in when I played them years ago. I think the game just works naturally well in a 3D environment, which would explain why I only took such an avid interest when GTA3 came out.

The evolution of gta stopped on gta 4. Its not as good as San Andreas. Many faggots think gta4 is better cause of graphics. come on...
San Andreas has a lot more FEATURES  thats what matters to me. And the RAGE engine is not good for pc. It lags a lot with low-end systems. Its a lot different than e.g. Fallout 3
